If you’re tired of the constant battle against unwanted hair and seeking a permanent solution, look no further than our IPL Permanent Hair Reduction services. We’re here to guide you through the revolutionary world of laser hair removal and why our IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment stands out in Leicester.
Unwanted hair can be irritating, embarrassing and time consuming to continuously remove. Intense Pulse Light ‘IPL’ provides a quick and painless solution to unwanted hair with permanent hair reduction that simply can’t be achieved by conventional methods.
How it works
To treat unwanted hair, IPL works by targeting the melanin (colour) in the hair follicles with quick pulses of light. The light emitted by the IPL pulse is absorbed by the melanin in the hair, it heats until the structure of the hair is broken down and unable to produce a new hair. Permanent hair reduction is achieved during the anagen growth phase of the hair growth cycle. About 30% of hairs are in this stage of the growth cycle at any one time which is why a course of treatments is required.

Your Questions Answered
Does IPL Really Remove Hair Permanently?
Our medically certified IPL System has the ability to accurately target the melanin in the hair. The heat is absorbed causing the breakdown of the follicle and destruction of the blood supply to the hair. The hair can not regrow. The results are between 70-95% permanent hair reduction.
What Is The Difference Between Laser And IPL Hair Removal?
Some lasers have quick flashes of light causing the hair to go into shock (resting growth phase) rather than being destroyed. IPL is tailored to an individuals hair type, skin type and colour. The flash of light and heat are accurately set to travel through the hair long enough to cause destruction of the follicle for the best possible results..
Which IPL Is Best For Hair Removal?
Some less advanced IPL Systems can only be used on a limited number of fitzpatrick skin types. Our Medical IPL system can be used on all skin types except very dark (fitzpatrick type 6). Unlike other IPL systems, it allows for fine tuning of the settings to suit specific skin colour & hair combinations in order to achieve the best possible results.
Are There Side Effects To IPL?
Side effects to IPL are generally associated with the heat element of the treatment. Our IPL system features a unique cryo – cooling handset which has an anaesthetic effect on the skin surface to provide the most comfortable treatment and to reduced redness and warmth during the treatment.
How Many Treatments Are Needed?
For permanent hair reduction most areas of the body will need between 6-10 treatments however this can vary from client to client. Advanced IPL treatments such as acne or thread vein removal however may only require 1-3 treatments. Your IPL therapist will assess your individual requirements and advise accordingly.
Who Can It Treat?
IPL has been clinically proven to work on almost all skin types except very dark skin.
